Create and submit a 2-3 minute video highlighting a sexual exploitation issue. All prize-winning videos become the property of Defend Dignity (CSES organizer).

Choose one or more options below. You may enter more than one video.

1. Social media plays an increasing role in sexual exploitation. How do we help kids understand the need to stay safe on social media?

2. Indigenous women and girls are far over-represented among those victimized by sexual exploitation in Canada. How can we help all Canadian young people become aware and involved in this problem?

3. There are three key groups of people in sexual exploitation; those being sold, those who sell, and those who buy. More attention needs to be paid to those who buy. How can we address this area?

4. The cause of ending sexual exploitation attracts female involvement. How can boys and men get more involved in this issue?

5. Pornography is often viewed by young people on a regular basis, making it the sex educator of today. How does pornography interact with the issue of sexual exploitation?

Guidelines:

1. Must be no longer than 3 minutes in length

2. Must be original ideas

3. Desire to make a difference when it comes to sexual exploitation

4. Contest period is between May 1, 2020- March 31, 2021

Who Can Enter

1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be Canadian residents between the ages of 16 to 30 years at the time of submission.

How to Enter

1. By entering, entrants represent and warrant (i) that they own the video
   submitted, and (ii) it does not violate the rights of any third parties. No lewd, nude, crude, or offensive photographs (as determined by Defend Dignity in its sole and absolute discretion) will be accepted. Defend Dignity reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to disqualify any entry.

2. b)  The contest starts on May 1, 2020, and all entries must be received by Defend Dignity by March 31st, 2021 by 12:00 p.m., EST. Defend Dignity is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, printing errors, server unavailability, computer, or any other electronic malfunction.

3. c)  On April 16, 2021 three (3) winners will be selected by a group of judges from among valid entries for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes. The winners will be notified.

The Prize(s)

1. First prize winner will receive $1000 CAD and lifetime access to all Summit presentations from Defend Dignity’s Canadian Sexual Exploitation Summit, May 6-7, 2021. Second prize winner will receive $500 CAD and lifetime access to all Summit presentations from Defend Dignity’s Canadian Sexual Exploitation Summit. The third prize winner will receive $500 CAD.

Each winner will be notified by email and phone. Before claiming the prize, the winner must provide their correct name, address, and telephone number to Defend Dignity at the time of notification. Each winner must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within fourteen (14) days of notification, at the time each winner claims their prize from Defend Dignity a winner is a minor, then the winner’s guardian must sign a release and affidavit of eligibility before the winner receives their prize. Each winner must show/email picture identification to claim prizes.

2. If a winner cannot be notified within fourteen (14) days, or does not sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be forfeited, and the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner from among the remaining valid entries.

3. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Defend Dignity. Defend Dignity has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.

4. Only one prize will be awarded per person.

5. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Defend Dignity has the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice, and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

1. Defend Dignity cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes, or contest information. Defend Dignity is not responsible for any computer or electronic malfunction, server unavailability, technological glitch, or human error relating to this contest.

2. Defend Dignity reserves the right to make rules and contest changes.
